Being aware of our position in the supply chain we are continuously reviewing and updating our quality standards with regards to our products and our markets. As a distributor we consider it our responsibility to safeguard the quality and safety of our products. That is why we are working according to the highest industry standards.

Since 2008 Barentz B.V. has a certified Food Safety System in place. With this certificate Barentz underlines its responsibility towards customers and suppliers regarding communication of food safety aspects of the supply chain. ISO 22000 is a qualification system which focuses on information and communication about risks in the food chain.

Skal is an inspection body for the organic production in the Netherlands in accordance with the public law, based on EU-Regulations 834/2007 and 889/2008. With the SKAL certificate Barentz contributes to the growing demand of organic products in the food industry.

Fairtrade is based on a partnership between producers and consumers. Fairtrade offers producers a better deal and improved terms of trade. This allows them the opportunity to improve their lives and plan for their future. When a product from Barentz carries the FAIRTRADE Mark it means the distribution chain is meeting Fairtrade standards.

The initiative to improve industrial performance in the area of the environment, safety and health on a rolling basis is naturally a focal point within Barentz. After all, Barentz too, recognizes its responsibility in the chain from producer to customer and emphasizes its commitment via its part in the Responsible Care program. Various aspects of the RC program have already been incorporated into our organisation, and this process will of course be continued in the future.

For the Feed business Barentz was among the first companies to be GMP certified, thus offering our customers the full assurance of meeting the feed safety quality standards as managed by GMP+ International.

Several Barentz affiliates are certified for GMP+ B3 (2007) Trade, Collection and Storage & Transshipment

Barentz International B.V. ensures that several additives and functional ingredients sourced mainly from Asia are available with a FAMI QS feed safety certificate.

For the feed business centered in Belgium, the GMP feed safety program is certified by the Belgium organization OVOCOM.
